About Us
Willow Creek was established in 1996, as a vendor of Chinese research materials to libraries and individuals. A few years later, we began publishing scholarly books about China. Since 2006, we have focused entirely upon publishing. All of our products include large collections of data in digital form (on CD), and some include digital maps. Individuals can buy our products from Amazon.com; libraries can buy from distributors such as Baker & Taylor and Blackwell. We also sell directly, at discounted prices.
The village of Trumansburg is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, west of Cayuga Lake. The village dates to about 1792, when Abner Treman and his family settled a tract of land that Abner had received for service during the Revolution. Legend holds that “Treman's Village” became “Trumansburg” as a result of an error on Abner’s commission as local postmaster.
Willow Creek (the stream, not the company) empties into Cayuga Lake a few miles outside Trumansburg and just beyond Taughannock Falls—which, at 215 feet, is one of the highest falls in the eastern United States.
